Neutron Detector Development

In this report, we present the results of fast neutron detection studies focused on improving performance in selected applications. The activity within Task 3.3 has been shared between four partners: PTB (13), INFN (20), UNIPD (23) and NCBJ (25).

The investigations were focused on the following aspects:

• neutron detector development at pulsed ultra-strong neutron sources (PTB),
• investigation of pulse shape analysis methods for signals discrimination (INFN/UNIPD), and
• fast neutron detection with novel scintillation materials (NCBJ).
